Walk Works @ Thameside
Hambledon - Henley
From Henley-on-Thames and Caversham to Reading and across the wider Thames Valley, we proudly promote some of the most beautiful walking routes in the region. Our guided walks take you through the Chiltern Hills, along the historic Ridgeway, and beside the peaceful river trails of the Thames Path.
We’re passionate about encouraging people to discover and enjoy the outdoors—bringing people closer to nature and to each other.
Why not join one of our walks from Hambleden to Henley? Along the way, you’ll take in stunning countryside and finish with well-earned refreshments at the Thameside Hawkerne Enclosure.
With deep local knowledge and strong community connections, we go beyond the usual routes—showcasing the viewpoints worth pausing for, the pubs worth planning around, the farm shops worth exploring, and the cafés you’ll want to return to.
This is more than just walking—it’s the Thames Valley at its very best, thoughtfully promoted and experienced the way it should be.
CHEF DEMO : Cooking Over Fire with Ryan & Liam
Ryan and Liam bring a lively, hands-on energy to live-fire cooking, working side by side over the Big Green Egg and the Oxgrill. With flames dancing and smoke rolling, they blend precision with instinct—showing how different fuels, airflow, and grill setups can transform flavour. Ryan leans into technique, explaining temperature control, resting times, and how to build layers of smoke, while Liam keeps things grounded with practical tips, shortcuts, and a chef’s intuition for when something is just right.
Expect plenty of useful hints along the way—how to manage flare-ups, when to go lid-on versus lid-off, and why patience is often the secret ingredient. Their sessions are packed with tasting moments too, where they break down textures, seasoning balance, and that all-important char.
The Q&As feel like you’re gathered around the fire with them—covering everything from choosing the right cuts to experimenting with marinades, wood types, and cooking times. It’s informal, informative, and full of those small insights that make a big difference once you’re cooking over flame yourself.

Henley Womens Regatta
Henley Women’s Regatta is one of the UK’s premier rowing events, held annually on the River Thames at Henley-on-Thames. Established in 1988, it was created to provide competitive racing opportunities for women at a time when they were underrepresented at traditional regattas.
Today, it attracts top female rowers from across the UK and around the world, ranging from junior and club crews to elite international athletes. The event takes place over a full 2,000-metre course—longer than most regattas—making it a true test of endurance, skill, and teamwork.
Set against the beautiful backdrop of the Thames and the Chiltern Hills, Henley Women’s Regatta combines high-level sport with a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, celebrating the growth and success of women’s rowing.
Fish & Chips Friday
For some of the best fish and chips on the Thames, the Orwells boys have made quite a name for themselves. What started as a simple idea during lockdown quickly became a local favourite—serving up top-quality, restaurant-standard fish and chips to riverside communities when people needed it most.
Using the same care and attention they’re known for at Orwells, they focus on great ingredients, perfectly cooked fish, and proper chips—simple food, done exceptionally well. It’s a relaxed, no-fuss experience that’s become part of the Thames-side story, whether you’re picking up after a walk or enjoying it by the river.
Now brought to you right on the banks of the Thames, it’s the perfect way to round off a day outdoors—great food, great setting, and a proper taste of the local scene.
